The association was formed to provide the British public with a means of identifying a quality piercing salon from the plethora of fly by night businesses who have no knowledge or sense of responsibility to their clients.

The association is a network of high quality piercing practitioners. Many of our members work in other fields of health care & the beauty industry. We exchange knowledge & information with each other, the medical world & instrument & jewellery manufacturers ensuring we stay at the forefront of piercing industry developments. We also implement trials for new jewellery & equipment.

The association acts as a conduit for information to the press, consulting & providing articles for beauty & trade magazines & newspapers. We also provide piercers & a consultation service to professional make up artists, TV programmers & researchers on piercing & body modification matters.

Each Association Member displays and adheres to the A.M.P.P Clients Charter in their salon.

I, as a qualified, full member of the above Association, believe that every body piercing client has the right to expect and receive the articles listed below: -

1. To be pierced in a safe, clean and caring environment that complies with Local Authority Regulations.
2. To be pierced by a competent body piercer.
3. To be pierced by someone who is not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
4. To be made aware of the methods used to create their piercing.
5. That all equipment that touches their skin is to be sterile.
6. That all needles are sterile and used only once.
7. To have only suitable, sterile jewellery used in new piercings.
8. To be given good advice on jewellery type and placement.
9. To be given verbal and written advice on after care.
10. To obtain further advice if problems occur at a later date.
